Hi! I’m the coconut! Welcome to my first blog and first post! My name is Coéle. I’m a certified personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I live in Colorado Springs, CO and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors here by running in them. I began running in 2009 as an initial step towards a healthier life. After getting married in 2011, I needed to lose some ‘housewife baking weight’ (you all should know, I LOVE food!). I decided to take my running to the next step. I wanted to run a race so I decided to run a marathon. Go big or go home, right? It took a lot of dedication, hard work, and a few tears, but I ran my first marathon in September of 2012. It lit a fire within me to learn more about running, nutrition, personal fitness, and how it all worked together to forge a healthier lifestyle. I was constantly reading articles and books and talking to people in the fitness industry; and the more I learned, the more my own journey towards a healthier life grew, and the more I wanted to share that journey with others and help others start their own journey. That’s why I decided to become a personal trainer. I had never studied or worked in the fitness industry before and it was a scary step to take, but I can’t wait to see where this new career takes me. This blog is a way to share my continuing journey towards a healthier life and to hopefully help others continue or start their own journey. I will be sharing about my life as a new personal trainer, wife, and athlete. Having never been a writer, this step to start a blog is a frightening one, but I can’t wait to learn more from experience and your feedback. I can’t wait to meet more of you and hear about your journeys! Happy reading!
